About Dara
Dara Henry is a children’s book author living in Southern California. When she is not writing, her favorite pastimes include spending time at the public library, being active in the beautiful California weather, and enjoying time with her husband, three children, and two cats.
Dara finds inspiration in nature, life experiences, and in watching her children grow. Working as an elementary classroom teacher for many years helped Dara appreciate the beauty and power of children’s literature.
Remember . . . life isn’t spotless, but you can still have fun!
AUTHOR BIO
Dara has a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, and as a former elementary school teacher, she loves presenting to children. Dara looks forward to sharing her work with children and families.
Dara’s debut picture book, Hanukkah Pajamakkahs, is set to launch September 3, 2024 with Sourcebooks Kids. She is represented by Rena Rossner of The Deborah Harris Agency.
Dara is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL) as well as several writing groups including, KIDLIT411, Writing for Children, 12x12 Member, and PB_Soar 24.
